Testimonials

I had a large issue in the driveway of my home. Multiple cracks. It sounded hollowed as you stomp on it in multiple areas. WHAT THEY DID:  They filled up the gaps inside. They repaired superficial cracks very well. They brought up the issue of how rain water could be coming under my driveway and causing more cracks in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that Josh and Nathan came today to take care of our driveway issues. They both did an excellent job in a very professional manner. We will definitely recommend A-1 Concrete Leveling to our friends here, should they have need of such services! Thanks again for your help and Deanne's help in resolving our driveway issues.

We needed part of our front sidewalk leveled, and also porch stairs. Rhett was on time for the estimate and thorougly explained what had to be done, and how it would be done. No rush, willing to answer any questions at all. They called and had an earlier opening than promised so we got it done even sooner than we had hoped. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable.

I know I had a lot of questions and I appreciated your patience. Your crew did a great job! I walked/crawled around before they left and it was exactly as I expected. The contractors I’ve hired so far for various projects cut a lot of corners and I wouldn’t hire any of them again. I’m glad Luis recommended A1. I will recommend you to anyone looking for foundation work as well.

Do I need to seal a new concrete driveway?

Sealing concrete is an important part of protecting your driveway from the cracks that lead to needing driveway repair. A sealer helps protect from moisture absorption, exposure to chemicals, and grease and oil stains. If you’ve chosen a driveway with decorative concrete, a sealer also helps to retain and enhance the color.

In general, there are two categories of sealers for exterior concrete: film-formers and penetrants. A penetrating sealer offers excellent protection from moisture absorption. We’re more than happy to talk with you about your options and help you determine which type of sealer is right for you.

What do I do if the driveway cracks?

If your concrete was joined properly, you shouldn’t have a problem with cracks. When you work with A-1 Concrete Leveling and Foundation Repair for concrete pouring, we take care to ensure that your concrete is built to last.

Cracks can also be caused by wear and tear to the concrete such as freezing and thawing or shifting soil. These cracks occur in places other than the joints, and they can often be solved with concrete floor leveling.

Can I get a warranty for my concrete driveway?

Of course! Many concrete contractors will stand behind their work with a warranty, and you should ask whoever you end up working with — including A-1 Concrete Leveling and Foundation Repair — what their warranty policy is for the particular job you’re hiring them for.

Why should I choose a concrete driveway?

We think concrete driveways are a great choice! They’re low maintenance and great looking. Concrete slabs are very strong and durable, and they come in a wide array of options. You can choose to add color or use stamps to create cost-effective replicas of other materials, like cobblestone, brick, or slate. Plus, they give kids a safe place to ride their scooters and shoot hoops! While building a new one can be labor-intensive, the benefits last for years to come.

If you’re trying to choose between a concrete and asphalt driveway, know that while asphalt may be the cheaper initial option, concrete lasts longer. Asphalt driveways also require more maintenance. And we might be biased, but here at A-1 Concrete Leveling and Foundation Repair, we think a concrete driveway just looks a lot more appealing than asphalt.

How important is drainage planning?

Concrete drainage is extremely important, and it may be the most important aspect of driveway installation. You don’t want water running into the garage or towards the home and damaging the foundation. And you also don’t want to have any low spots which may collect water. Here in Nashville, we know how much mosquitos love standing water! Your concrete driveway should be graded so that water flows where it’s supposed to go — around your home or out onto the street.

How thick should the concrete be?

Concrete pouring involves many calculations, and the thickness is determined by the way the concrete will be used. For example, a foundation has very different needs than a concrete driveway. The type of base — soil, clay, or stone — will also have an effect on how thick the concrete will need to be. Most driveways will only have passenger vehicles on them, but if you have delivery trucks or other large vehicles in your driveway on a regular basis, then you should let your concrete contractor know. These heavy vehicles can cause damage over time, no matter how thick your concrete is. Know that there is no guarantee that your concrete won’t eventually crack, but that’s what our concrete floor leveling is for! We’ll level any driveway cracks out and have your driveway looking great in no time.

How do I choose a concrete contractor?

We think the choice is easy — simply browse our website or give us a call and we’ll let you know why we out-rank the competition! However, if you haven’t worked with a concrete contractor before, you should get multiple opinions on your job before choosing the one you want to work with. Afterall, a concrete driveway is a big investment, and you want to make sure you’re happy with the work.

If you already have a good idea of what you’re looking for — say, a decorative, stamped concrete — you can start by searching specifically for concrete contractors that specialize in that sort of work. If your limiting factor is your budget, then you’ll be searching for affordable concrete driveways and should ask the contractor what you can get within that budget. You can also walk through your Nashville neighborhood and look at other people’s driveways and then ask the homeowners of the ones you like what contractor they worked with. Be sure to ask about their experience — you may be able to get a great product, but if the process was a headache, you know that’s not the contractor to choose!

Once you come up with a list of concrete contractors that you think will work for you, be sure to ask for samples of their work! You can see some of ours in our gallery. Also, look for reviews and testimonials. Here at A-1 Concrete Leveling and Foundation Repair, we have more than 205 verified ratings from our happy Nashville customers!

Along with pouring new concrete driveways, we can also create other beautiful concrete areas, including:
