Testimonials

I had a large issue in the driveway of my home. Multiple cracks. It sounded hollowed as you stomp on it in multiple areas. WHAT THEY DID:  They filled up the gaps inside. They repaired superficial cracks very well. They brought up the issue of how rain water could be coming under my driveway and causing more cracks in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that Josh and Nathan came today to take care of our driveway issues. They both did an excellent job in a very professional manner. We will definitely recommend A-1 Concrete Leveling to our friends here, should they have need of such services! Thanks again for your help and Deanne's help in resolving our driveway issues.

We needed part of our front sidewalk leveled, and also porch stairs. Rhett was on time for the estimate and thorougly explained what had to be done, and how it would be done. No rush, willing to answer any questions at all. They called and had an earlier opening than promised so we got it done even sooner than we had hoped. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable.

I know I had a lot of questions and I appreciated your patience. Your crew did a great job! I walked/crawled around before they left and it was exactly as I expected. The contractors I’ve hired so far for various projects cut a lot of corners and I wouldn’t hire any of them again. I’m glad Luis recommended A1. I will recommend you to anyone looking for foundation work as well.

Cinder blocks are large, rectangular bricks that are used in construction and can be found on the sides of homes all over America. Go ahead, get up off your couch and take a look under that pile of wood you have on the side of your home, we are betting you have at least four blocks under there, if not more. In fact, the recent foundation repair done by your Nashville foundation contractors revealed at least a dozen more cinder blocks in your crawlspace.

Now, finding this many cinder blocks on your property might not constitute a celebration, after all, what the heck are you going to do with these blocks of concrete? What you probably don’t know is that these seemingly useless cinder blocks can be repurposed. In fact, there are plenty of uses for cinder blocks.

If you are cheap and have some free time, you can come up with a creative way to use those cinder blocks. If you are cheap, have a little time on your hands and are not creative, we have a few ways in which you can use those cinder blocks.

Garden Bench

Place two cinder blocks on the ground in the vertical position and place one in the horizontal position on top of them. Repeat this until you have four units. Space these cinder block units apart two feet apart in a row. Now, feed two 6′ 4x4s through the top cinder block openings and secure them with some liquid nails. And there you have it; a cinder block bench that is cheap, sturdy and will last you a very long time. It also looks pretty cool as well.

Raised Bed Garden

Find an ideal spot in your backyard to have a garden. Now simply lay out several cinder blocks and form a big rectangle on the ground. Fill the middle with some dirt and potting soil and you have the base for a raised bed garden. Plant some vegetables, water them, weed them, give them love and in the fall, you can eat the fruits of your labor.

Entertainment Center

Cinder blocks and wood planks are all you need to make the most awesome entertainment center ever. You can enhance your entertainment center by painting or staining the wood planks. Cinder block entertainment centers can be tailored to fit perfectly into the space you have available. They aren’t permanent structures, so you can change them up as needed, like when you upgrade from a 42-inch television to a 65-inch television.

Desk or Bookcase

If you don’t need an entertainment center, you can use your cinder blocks to make other household furniture. For example, you can construct a desk or a bookcase with your cinder blocks.

Like with an entertainment center, the bookcase or desk you build can be customized to suit the space you have available. The wood planks you use for these projects can be stained or painted to create a unique look.

So gather up the cinder blocks you have lying around and get creative.
