Testimonials

I had a large issue in the driveway of my home. Multiple cracks. It sounded hollowed as you stomp on it in multiple areas. WHAT THEY DID:  They filled up the gaps inside. They repaired superficial cracks very well. They brought up the issue of how rain water could be coming under my driveway and causing more cracks in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that Josh and Nathan came today to take care of our driveway issues. They both did an excellent job in a very professional manner. We will definitely recommend A-1 Concrete Leveling to our friends here, should they have need of such services! Thanks again for your help and Deanne's help in resolving our driveway issues.

We needed part of our front sidewalk leveled, and also porch stairs. Rhett was on time for the estimate and thorougly explained what had to be done, and how it would be done. No rush, willing to answer any questions at all. They called and had an earlier opening than promised so we got it done even sooner than we had hoped. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable.

I know I had a lot of questions and I appreciated your patience. Your crew did a great job! I walked/crawled around before they left and it was exactly as I expected. The contractors I’ve hired so far for various projects cut a lot of corners and I wouldn’t hire any of them again. I’m glad Luis recommended A1. I will recommend you to anyone looking for foundation work as well.

Your Nashville Mudjacking Company and an Epic Barbecue Party

We are just a few short weeks away from memorial Day weekend, the unofficial kick-off of summer. One Memorial Day weekend tradition many of you will be partaking in is the ever-popular barbecue party.

Now, you might be the one who gets invited to a Memorial Day barbecue or you might be the one who throws a Memorial Day barbecue party; if you are the latter, you need to start preparing right now.

The first thing you need to do is call your Nashville mudjacking company and have your uneven sidewalks and driveway repaired, you don’t want anybody to trip. Then you need to make a list of what needs to be done to ensure you throw an awesome Memorial Day barbecue party.

Pick an Inspired Menu

Barbecues are all about the meats, so make sure you have a variety and plenty to go around. While barbecue chicken, hot dogs and burgers are certainly safe-bbq staples, go out on a limb and introduce people to non-traditional meats like andouille sausage, lamb meatballs and kangaroo burgers. To be sure, some people will be turned off by unfamiliar foods, but there will be a few who will appreciate your bold efforts.

Start off the festivities with a few appetizers that will whet everyone’s appetite. Cherry and goat cheese bruschetta, pistachio guacamole and cauliflower-spinach dip are all good choices and will satisfy even the pickiest of guests. Of course, chips and dip will also suffice.

The sides you serve should be sensational to look at as well as tasty. Serve your guests cucumber and sweet onion salad, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus and grilled portabellos sauteed in a sweet wine. You could also whip up a tasty tater salad, baked beans and some corn on the cob.

And of course, no barbecue menu is complete unless there are a few excellent dessert options. Tempt your guests’ taste buds with coffee creme brulee, cappuccino souffle and mango-basil vacherin. If you prefer, you can serve cake and ice cream instead.

Choose a Theme

Make sure your barbecue party stands out by choosing a theme. The theme you choose could be associated with food; a clambake or surf-n-turf are a couple of ideas, or your theme could be a simple color scheme. If you want to give your barbecue party an exotic feel, choose a Hawaiian Luau theme. If you want to take a step back in time, give your barbecue party a 1980s theme and have everyone come dressed as their favorite Miami Vice character.

Other theme ideas include an all-white party, Christmas in May and Mexican fiesta.

Create a Guest List

Make a list and check it twice because you want to make sure you invite all the right people. The people you want to invite to your barbecue party are fun, open-minded and love good food. You don’t want to invite that guy from sales who is sure to bore everybody with his stories about how he won salesman of the year three years in a row, back in the early 1980s.

Deck Out Your Backyard

You fixed the sidewalk and patio, so now they look great and are no longer a safety hazard, now finish things up with some decor. Choose colorful tablecloths for the picnic table and other eating areas and break out the fancy serving ware. You also might want to consider lighting options and extra seating.

Drinks

While you could ice down a keg in the kiddie pool, you want some other options for your guests as well. There will be some people who won’t want cheap beer, so have some adult beverages available, like white Russians or mojitos. Also, make sure you have non-alcoholic choices like lemonade or iced tea.

Entertainment

It’s always a good idea to have entertainment options. This could be something as simple as a few decks of cards or other board games to classic backyard games like badminton and horseshoes. Even a spontaneous game of trivia can keep bored guests entertained. If you are feeling creative, grab some paint and make your own Twister game right on your lawn. If you want extreme fun and the possibility of getting sued, set up a Slip-n-Slide.

Music

You bet music is an important component of any barbecue party. You can make things easy on yourself and just play a radio or stream a music app like Pandora or Spotify, or you can get a little more into it by creating a playlist from your iTunes library. Just imagine the look on your guests’ faces when you crank the death metal playlist.

Keep the Kids Busy

There will probably be children at your barbecue party, so make sure they have activities that will keep them busy and out of your hair. Water guns and water balloons are always a good option, or you can create an art and crafts table that will keep them busy and spark their imagination.
